I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

CONFESSION OF SIN

Father God, Your ways are holy, perfect, and altogether righteous. But we have denied You by our thoughts, words, and actions. We have had unclean hearts. We have not loved You as we should. We have sought to justify ourselves in the sight of men, but have not sought Your face. We have not had a right and appropriate fear of You. And our love for You has been weak.

Please be our helper as we come to You this morning. We come as a community of faith that You have called together for such a time as this. We come to You now with both fear and love - with that fear of You which is the beginning of wisdom - and with true love for You, because You first loved us.
